Erosion and Sediment Control Plan

images (1).jpg

Arek Surveying provides clients across the NYC area with dependable and reliable surveys. Our services also extend to an erosion and sediment control plan. They are plans that are drawn in conjunction with a subdivision plan. It denotes how upcoming construction activities will affect the movement of stormwater and sediment across a construction site and onto abutting properties. It also depicts how developers will adjust grading activities to limit the depositing of more stormwater and sediment onto abutting properties than was done prior to the construction.

What Is An Erosion and Sediment Control Plan?

An erosion and sediment control plan is an important aspect for many communities, as flooding can happen nearly anywhere. So, it is important to have a plan of action and be prepared. That means you may need to construct sites that can withstand the elements and the area safe. For more information about our surveying options, please give one of our offices a call at 516-792-6676 or 718-846-4624. We will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding our range of surveying services.

Types of Sediment Control

Sediment control is the practice or device that is designed to keep eroded soil on a construction site. As part of this plan, the goal is to see that the soil does not wash off or cause water pollution to streams, rivers, lakes or seas nearby. Commonly used sediments controls are:

  • dams

  • dikes

  • fiber rolls

  • sandbag barriers

These control types are typically employed with erosion controls and are usually only temporary measures. However, some control plans can be used for stormwater management purposes and perhaps see a longer lifespan.

Erosion Control

Erosion control is the prevention or controlling of wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development, coastal areas, river banks or construction sites. Effective erosion control plans are important in the prevention of water pollution, soil loss and wildlife habitat loss. Having proper erosion control is a crucial aspect for many communities and buildings in the New York and New Jersey area.
